 - Full Choir retreat - NOON to 5:00pm  - Performance 5:00pm to conclude retreats.   Again, more info later!  SAVE THE DATE!!

 Congratulations to Cobra Chorale for winning the 2016 AAAA State Championship and to the Ladies for placing 5th!! We are so proud of all of our choirs for their performance at the SCMEA Concert Performance Assessment!  Chorale and Ladies received straight superiors and the Advanced Concert Choir Received an Excellent rating.  
 

Congratulations to the Ladies Honors Choir for their performance at the Lander Choral Festival on February 12th!  They brought home a Superior Rating, Outstanding Repertoire award, and 1st Place Overall Performance with an average score of 96.3!    
 

The Cane Bay Choirs are proud to have 2 groups selected for conference performances!

- Ladies Honors Choir - selected to perform a featured performance at the 2015 SC ACDA Fall Conference at Southern Wesleyan University, October 23, 2015

 - Cobra Chorale - selected to perform a featured performance at the Southern Division ACDA Conference in Chattanooga, TN, March 9 - 11, 2016

About Us:

The Cane Bay Choirs, under the direction of William Bennett are 5 choirs comprised of 200 students in grades 9 - 12.  The Cobra Chorale was the 2016 AAAA SC State Champions, and performed at the 2016 Southern Division ACDA Convention.  The Ladies Honors Choir was the 2016 Lander Choral Festival Grand Champion, and performed at the 2015 SCACDA Convention.  Cane Bay Choirs perform 4 major concerts each year with great reviews from parents and faculty.  The Choirs also provide the National Anthem and Alma Mater for all home football games, basketball games and school assemblies and perform at many community events throughout the year.  Students in the Cane Bay Choirs participate in the SCACDA State Honor Choirs, the SCMEA All-State Chorus, the Berkeley County All-County Chorus, the ACDA Regional and National Honor Choirs, the SCMEA Solo and Ensemble festival and the SCMEA State Choral Festival. 

Cobra Chorale 

The Cobra Chorale is the top performing mixed ensemble at Cane Bay. In addition to our 4 major concerts annually, they also perform at school and community functions, present an annual Holiday Madrigal Dinner, and perform on the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston.  The Cobra Chorale was selected to perform a featured concert at the 2011 SCMEA State In-Service Conference, performed on the closing concert of the 2012 North Charleston Arts Festival, and performed for the opening concert of the 2013 SCACDA Conference at Coastal Carolina University.  Cobra Chorale consistently receives Superior ratings at State Festival and has placed as high as 2nd in the State in their division.  Students in the Cane Bay Choirs participate in the SCACDA State Honor Choirs, the SCMEA All-State Choirs, the Berkeley County All-County Chorus, the ACDA Regional and National Honor Choirs, the SCMEA Solo and Ensemble festival and the SCMEA State Choral Festival.

Ladies Honors Choir

The Ladies Choir is the top performing ladies ensemble at Cane Bay. This class focuses on advanced level choral technique, sightreading and musicianship skills, music theory and music history. An audition with the choral director is required for placement in this ensemble. In addition to major concerts, the Ladies Choir  perform at school and community functions throughout the year. Students in this class will also be expected to participate in All-state chorus, All-county chorus, and Solo and Ensemble festival. 2009-2010 was the first year for the Ladies Choir at Cane Bay and they placed 12th overall with a score of 248/300 points at the SCMEA Choral Festival this past March.  In 2010 - 2011 they performed for Y102.5 Christmas live and recieved an Excellent rating at the SCMEA choral Festival with a score of 256/300 points.

Concert Choir

This class focuses on music reading, fundamentals of singing and performance, and prepares students for advancement in the choral department by focusing on upper level choral technique, sightreading and musicianship skills, music theory and music history. No audition is required for placement into this ensemble. This class is fast paced and will performs on all major concerts as members of the Concert Choir.
