At Sedgefield Middle School, we strive to provide our students with rigorous and engaging instruction, a variety of extra-curricular activities, and a positive school climate. Sedgefield Middle School has a large and diverse student population, with nearly 1100 students in sixth through eighth grades. Committed
stakeholders include the students, parents, teachers, staff, and community who share a vision of academic excellence.
The core curriculum emphasizes ELA, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science. Eighth grade students
We also offer students a variety of clubs after school to include: Google CSFirst, National BETA club, Yearbook, Robotics, QUEST, Quiz Bowl, and Anime Club.also have the opportunity to earn a high school credit in English I, Algebra I, Keyboarding, Google Basics, Computer Applications and Spanish I.
We are very proud of the many achievements earned by students and teachers at SFM. In February 2014, SFM was recognized as the “Cool School of the Week” by WCBD-TV 2. We are a recipient of the Palmetto Silver Award.
Sixteen eighth-graders were named Junior Scholars, five seventh-graders were recognized as Duke Tip Scholars, and 100% of our students enrolled in English I and Algebra I passed the End-of Course Exam. Our Black History Quiz Bowl team won 1st place at the Mu Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Black History Bowl at The Citadel. Each year the number of students who participate in All-County Band, Chorus, and Orchestra continue to grow.
As our school continues to grow, so will the accomplishments of our faculty and students. We look forward to creating future opportunities for our students and teachers at SFM.
