Berkeley County School District will host a Subcontractor Outreach event for general/special trade contractors on March 5, 2024 from 4:30pm to 7:00pm at Carolyn Lewis School in Goose Creek. Please plan on joining Berkeley County School District and the following General Contractors to learn more about the various new construction, addition, and renovation projects at Berkeley County School District. 

General Contractors:

• James R. Vannoy & Sons Construction Company, Inc

• H.G. Reynolds Company, Inc

• EDIFICE, LLC

Capital Projects:

• Construction of Nexton Middle School

• Construction of elementary school on Black Tom Rd

• Renovation and addition project at Hanahan Middle School

These projects account for phase one of the voter-approved 1% Education Capital Improvement Tax, or “penny tax”, approved by the Board of Education and voters in 2022. The Education Capital Improvement Tax is approved for seven years and will fund the creation of three schools, the renovation and expansion of three high schools and a middle school, and improvements to athletic facilities at eight high schools.

Potential opportunities for all trades and information regarding the scope of each capital project will be available at this event. Berkeley County School District Facilities & New Construction personnel, along with procurement officers, will be available to address any questions about contracting with the district.
