As the 4th-largest school district in South Carolina, Berkeley County School District (BCSD) has approximately 6,000 full-time employees and more than 38,000 students.

While we adjust yearly to opportunities and challenges associated with being one of the fastest-growing counties in the country, we strive to offer high-quality instruction driven by personalized learning, competency-based learning and blended learning practices.

Access to technology is also a priority in our district, with 1st-12th grade students receiving school-issued Chromebooks and many other students in need of Internet access receiving wireless hotspots.

Currently BCSD is working with multiple independent organizations to cultivate an overall comprehensive assessment of existing facilities, assets and needs.
