Berkeley High School is a comprehensive high school that is located in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, which is the county seat of Berkeley County.  We serve grades nine through twelve, and although our student population is very diverse, with over 2,000 students, our students and community unite around our Stag Pride!

Academic excellence is the standard at Berkeley High School.  Teachers participate in Professional Learning communities, which focus on data and dynamic instruction.  Through these Professional Learning Communities, teams are able to identify students’ academic strengths and weaknesses to guide their instructional planning.  This year, through our strong PLCs and dedicated educational professionals, Berkeley HIgh School saw great improvements in all academic areas.  Increases in academic performance were seen on the end of course exams in Algebra 1, English 2, Biology 1, and United States History and the Constitution.  At BHS, students can take advantage of Advanced Placement course offerings in English, Math, Science, and Social Studies.  We are proud to offer Teacher Cadet courses to aspiring educators.  Students may also opt to participate in the Trident Technical College B4 program, which offers dual credit courses.  Students are also supported in every course through our after school tutoring program.  Our goal at BHS is academic excellence through supportive student pathways.

Berkeley High School also strives to provide students with course offerings that do more than simply teach content. Currently, over 1,100 students are enrolled in at least one Career and Technical Education (CTE) course. Our CTE courses provide students with an opportunity to learn valuable 21st century skills by encouraging collaboration, communication, and critical thinking. This year, Berkeley High School graduated our first class of firefighters from our Firefighting career pathway. Welding is also a program that experiences great success at BHS.  This year, several of our students were offered apprenticeships at W International.  In addition to the aforementioned pathways, we also offer pathways in Air Force JROTC, Project Lead the Way (engineering), Building Construction, Business, Automotive, and Health Science.

Berkeley High takes great pride in our performing arts programs as well. The Berkeley Brigade marching band competed in several competitions and received Excellent Ratings. The Berkeley Brigade band also had students qualify for All State Band.  Our Chorus program competed in several competitions this year and received Excellent ratings.  Our Art program also experienced an impressive year having several students win awards at local art shows.  Our Drama program hosted several performances this year.

The success of Berkeley High School would not be possible without the support of our community.  Our parents and community support are like no other in the county.  Our parents host booster clubs in athletics, band, and JROTC.  There is never an ask that is too big for our parents or the Town of Moncks Corner.  Moncks Corner may be a large zip code, but we maintain a small town feel. At Berkeley High School, we never take for granted the big responsibility we have in ensuring that our students are ready for their next chapter in life, but we do want them to have a great time while we prepare them.  GO STAGS!
