Ms. Butterworth

School Counseling Director

Ms. Butterworth received a B.S. in Public Health Education from UNC-Greensboro, and a MA in Counseling from Marshall University. She has seventeen years experience as a school counselor.

When she isn’t working, she enjoys gardening, reading, going to the beach with her family, and walking her dog.

Ms. Lee

6th Grade Counselor

Ms. Lee earned her Master’s degree in Counselor Education from South Carolina State University in 2004. She also obtained a Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from Southern Wesleyan University in 2019.

This is her 3rd year at BMS. She has been a school counselor for 17 years and this is her 11th year in Berkeley County.

She enjoys family game nights, going to concerts and plays, and traveling.

Mrs. Mihalovich

7th Grade Counselor

Mrs. Mihalovich is thrilled to join the counseling team at BMS. She received her bachelor's in psychology from Winthrop University and a Master's in School Counseling from The Citadel. Her goal is to foster a supportive and engaging environment that helps students thrive not only socially, but also academically.

Outside of her professional life, Mrs. Mihalovich enjoys fishing, boating, and traveling with her family and friends.

Ms. Staggers-Wilson

8th Grade Counselor

Ms. Staggers-Wilson graduated with a B.S. in Professional Biology from South Carolina State University, a MA in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University, and a MEd in Elementary & Secondary School Counseling from Cambridge College. She has 14 years of experience as a school counselor. This is her 5th year at BMS.

She has worked in the past as a mental health counselor, foster care social worker, adoption specialist, and middle school science teacher. She has two adult children and resides in Kingstree, SC.

Ms. Severe

Part-Time Counselor

Ms. Severe received a B.A. in Psychology from Columbia College, and a MA in School Counseling from Chapman University. She has fifteen years experience as a school counselor. She has worked with all ages of students from K3-12th grade.

When she isn’t working, she enjoys being with family and friends, especially her three kids.
