Dr. Kellie Gebhardt

Principal

Dr. Kellie Gebhardt was named principal at Goose Creek Elementary in June of 2022. She formerly served as the assistant principal at Sangaree Intermediate for seven years.

Before arriving at Sangaree Intermediate in 2009 as a curriculum coach, Dr. Gebhardt taught math at Whitesville Elementary and St. Stephen Elementary.

She is a product of Berkeley County, having graduated from Stratford High. She now has children of her own in the school district.

Dr. Gebhardt looks forward each year to the excitement and energy found in elementary-aged children. She is passionate about building relationships with community members and building a strong support system for students.

Kali Coaxum

Ms. Kali Coaxum

Assistant Principal

Kali Coaxum is Lowcountry born and Lowcountry raised. She moved from Charleston to Goose Creek with her family at six years old, when her dad got a job at Alumax (now Mt. Holly). Ms. Coaxum is a proud product of Berkeley County School District. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from South Carolina State University in Early Childhood Education. She is also a graduate of The Citadel with a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. She started her teaching career as a long-term substitute at her former elementary school, Howe Hall Elementary in 1996. She was then hired as a teacher of that classroom in the spring.

Ms. Coaxum has over 20 years in education with 16 years teaching kindergarten. She has taught Child Development and 1st grade. Ms. Coaxum has also been a reading interventionist.

Ms. Coaxum enjoys spending time with her family. She has 2 children and 4 nieces that all mean the world to her. Before coming to Goose Creek Elementary, Ms. Coaxum served as an Assistant Principal at Westview Primary.

Mrs. Tammy Alessandro

Mrs. Tammy Alessandro

Assistant Principal

Mrs. Tammy Alessandro is beyond excited to serve as the Assistant Principal of Goose Creek Elementary School. Prior to her role at Goose Creek Elementary, Mrs. Alessandro spent 15 years at Sangaree Elementary, also in Berkeley County. She began her education career there as a kindergarten teacher. After teaching for 11 years, Mrs. Alessandro served three years as the Title I Facilitator and one year as the Technology Instructional Coach.

Mrs. Alessandro attended the College of Charleston where she received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. She went on to Charleston Southern University where she earned a Master’s of Elementary School Administration and Supervision. 

Mrs. Alessandro’s mission statement is to be dedicated to supporting teachers, staff, and families in such a way that we collaboratively build amazing opportunities for our children to develop academic, social-emotional, and leadership skills that result in lifelong success! She believes that all children will learn when they belong to a school where students are loved, challenged, and engaged in learning that is meaningful and memorable.

Mrs. Alessandro and her husband have two children and a dog. Her favorite pastimes include reading, relaxing on the porch with a cup of coffee, spending time with her family, and summer days at the beach or the pool.
