Chamber Choir

Chamber Choir is Goose Creek's advanced mixed-voice ensemble.

The group includes a maximum of 32 singers who commit to year-long enrollment and participation. Students in this ensemble are held to the highest standard of personal musicianship, professionalism, and integrity. Admission is based on rigorous audition, and we strive to excel in performance of choral music of every style; while focusing particularly on a cappella repertoire for SATB divisi.

The ensemble has consistently received Superior ratings at festivals and assessments. A highly-awarded ensemble, the Chamber Choir was named "Grand Champion" of the Lander Choral Festival where they took 1st place in the mixed choir division and received the highest score overall in both 2020 and 2019. They also took home 1st Place at the 2018 Lander University Choral Festival. In Spring 2019, the Chamber Choir was the first choral ensemble from Goose Creek High to be invited to perform at the annual South Carolina Music Educators Association (SCMEA) Professional Development Conference in Columbia. In Fall 2019, the Chamber Choir was again the first choral ensemble from Goose Creek High to be invited to perform at the annual SCACDA conference in Charleston. At the inaugural Palmetto State Choral Championships, they received 3rd place Grade 5 Chamber Choir and 3rd place Overall Chamber Choir. The also posted the 3rd highest performance score overall.

The ensemble has been lauded as "ambassadors for technique for high school singers" and praised for their "incredible energy and precision". Members of this ensemble are eligible to audition for SC All-State Chorus and BCSD All-County Chorus, as well as Honor Choirs of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) at the state, regional, and national level.
