The 2021-22 school year is Mr. Gallus’ fourth year as Principal of Hanahan High School. He joined BCSD as a physical education teacher and coach at Hanahan High School in 2003, investing the past 18 years in public education. After serving 11 years as a teacher and coach, he was selected as an assistant principal at Berkeley High in 2014. While at Berkeley, Gallus oversaw the International Baccalaureate program and served as the administrator for the Scholars Academy and Academic Booster Club. Mr. Gallus is married to Alison Gallus and has four children, Tripp (12), Mary Scott (10), Makenna (9) and Elliott (8).

Assistant Principal of Athletics

Mrs. Joseph is a graduate of University of North Carolina Wilmington, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Physical Education with a Minor in Psychology.  She began her teaching career in 2005 at Sedgfield Middle School as a Health teacher.  She pursued her Administrative degree at The Citadel.  She has been at Hanahan High School since 2009 as the Physical Education teacher and cheerleading coach.  2018 Mrs. Joseph became the Assistant Principal of Athletics at Hanahan High School.  She is married and has 3 beautiful children.

Assistant Principal 

There are times when I remind myself of my “why?” The answer always is the students. I am excited to be a part of the Hawk Family! This chapter in my life is titled; As Does the Hawk, I Will Soar!

The 2022-2023 school year will begin Miss Johnson’s twenty-second year in education, fifth year as an Assistant Principal, and first year at Hanahan High School. Miss Johnson taught science for seventeen years, four of those years in Berkeley County. She graduated from South Carolina State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master’s Degree in Secondary School Administration and Supervision from Charleston Southern University. Miss Johnson has one daughter who is a Captain in the U.S. Air Force. She wants everyone to remember, that every child has a story and all they want is someone who will listen.

Before coming to Hanahan High, Mikkail Jenkins was previously an assistant principal at Ashley Ridge High School. He's excited to start his life as a Hawk at HHS!
