Over the weekend, Nexton Elementary hosted a "Tropical STEM Fest,” the school’s first-ever FIRST LEGO League Festival. In the morning there were robotics competitions followed by a STEM festival for visitors to enjoy.
Nexton Elementary’s Rocket Robotics team hosted the event along with Team 3489 “Category 5”, a FIRST Robotics Competition Team made up of students from Summerville High, Ashley Ridge High, Pinewood Prep, Palmetto Scholars Academy and homeschooled students. The event is connected to FIRST LEGO League of South Carolina.
