The South Carolina Department of Education released the 2022-2023 state report cards, and Berkeley County Schools have made notable progress. Results show that 74 percent of all schools in the district received a rating of Average, Good, or Excellent, and 73 percent of schools maintained their previous rating, or saw an increase.

Additionally, 79 percent of BCSD elementary schools and 85 percent of middle schools received a rating of Average or above. All district high schools met or exceeded the state graduation rate average.

“We are excited about the forward momentum in our schools, and encouraged by the continuous improvement,” said BCSD Superintendent Dr. Anthony Dixon. “While the report card rating system is only one measure of progress, we want our students, teachers, and principals to know that we recognize their efforts and will continue to work alongside them to support achievement.”
