HHA students during their "Our Wonderful World." performance

When most schools decide to put on a performance they buy the licensing for a popular musical or play, but for Howe Hall AIMS that seemed too easy.

This winter the school’s third and fourth graders put on an original show called “Our Wonderful World” that proclaimed the students’ love for South Carolina, America and the planet we all call home. The show was a fantastic example of the arts infusion lessons that make HHA such a unique school and showed off the talent of multiple students.

Fourth graders composed patriotic poems and third grade students wrote acrostic poems that combined ELA and theater standards about our WONDERFUL WORLD, which were both recited during the performance.

Multiple set pieces were created by students, with the most elaborate being a map of the world made by third graders that combined social studies and art standards.

However, the highlight of the show was “The Battle of Sullivan’s Island” an original rap song written and performed by fourth grade students that detailed the infamous Revolutionary War battle involving Palmetto logs.

Congratulations on a great performance, Chameleons!
