CBH concert band

On April 26, three musical ensembles from Cane Bay High School - symphonic band, jazz band and percussion ensemble - competed in the Smoky Mountain Music Festival.

This event featured ensembles representing 15 states and performers were allowed to play three songs for the judges. The festival was adjudicated by university band directors and military band conductors.

All three groups earned the highest rating: Superior. CBH's symphonic band placed third overall. The jazz band and percussion ensemble both won first place in their divisions!

Several students received a Certificate of Excellence for outstanding performances:

  • CBH trumpets for "St. James Infirmary"

  • CBH rhythm section for "St. James Infirmary"

  • Hailey Jones and Cassie Burnett on alto sax for "St. James Infirmary"

  • Grant Corde on trumpet for "The Tiger of San Pedro" and "Joy"

  • Taylor McCray on drums for the "Tiger of San Pedro"

  • Avery Jackson on tenor sax for "Fly Me To The Moon"

  • Angello Gonzalez on trumpet for "St. James Infirmary" and "Joy"

  • Hailey Jones on flute for "Sun Cycles"
