graduate walking across stage

There are a few upcoming important dates to keep in mind for those who are enrolling in Berkeley County School District’s Adult Education program.

There are two facilities that offer adult and community education: the Adult Learning Center at the Center for Academics and Innovation in Moncks Corner, and the Fishburne Educational Center in Hanahan; only Fishburne offers ESL classes.

Registration for returning English as a Second Language (ESL) students will run July 16-18 at the Fishburne Learning Center. These will be the only days for returning students. No appointment is needed, but students should expect to stay for registration as well as BestPlus testing, which runs 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

BestPlus testing for new ESL students will occur Aug. 7-9 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., also at the Fishburne Learning Center.

GED and High School Diploma registration also starts this month. Returning student registration will occur at both sites July 22-24. Please call between July 16-18 to schedule a registration appointment.

New student registration will occur at both sites July 29-31. Please call between July 22-24 to schedule a registration appointment.

Check out BCSD Adult Education’s Registration and Testing page for more information.

Day and evening classes are offered for all programs. Workplace reading and math skills, soft skills, digital literacy, resume writing, mock interviews and preparation for WIN and WorkKeys are integrated into the curricula. For more information on program offerings, click here.
