Berkeley County School District would like to recognize Timberland High School's Army JROTC Raider Team for winning its fourth straight State Championship.
The traditional team brought home the state title while the school's mixed team was named first runner-up.
The team competed in a multidivisional matchup on Dec. 14. Fifteen of the best teams from across the state – including Blythewood, Bluffton St. James, Dorman, Ridgeview, Spring Valley, Liberty, North Central, and Timberland – met on the field of battle at Blythewood High.
Students participated in events including a 5k Team Run, One-Rope Bridge (which simulates a 40-foot river crossing), HUMVEE Pull, Team Physical Fitness Challenge, Knot Tying Relay and Litter Carry.
The Raiders are led by SFC (Retired) Fritz D. Hodges.
