students performing on stage

In the Cane Bay school community, the holidays are not complete without the annual Madrigal Dinners.

The Madrigal Dinners are Renaissance-themed dinner theater shows held at Cane Bay High and features the award-winning Cane Bay Cobra Chorale. The celebration is ongoing this weekend, with the final show airing tonight at the high school.

In addition to singing, William Bennett's chorus students completely transform the main entrance of the building to resemble a castle. They dress in full Renaissance garb, put on a play and also serve dinner to attendees. It is a huge production put on with the help of volunteers and local sponsors.

All "good lords and ladies faire" in attendance enjoyed this year's show, “Who Killed the Kilt”. This medieval-themed parody of "Law & Order" followed the Jester of the Court, who does not understand the serious nature involved with traditional Scottish dress. His jokes about kilts get him in trouble when a kilt has been found...murdered.

The show had a lot of audience participation and some very humorous students with a future in show biz.
