Students at our schools honored the rich cultural tradition of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) last week. The vibrant holiday known for iconic painted calaveras originates in Mexico and serves as an invitation to reflect on the importance of family and heritage. Though this day falls outside of Hispanic Heritage Month, schools like Hanahan High included the day as a part of cultural enrichment activities with beautiful and informative cross curricular lessons.

Our maintenance and facilities workers go above and beyond to make sure our schools are in tip-top shape. To show our appreciation for all their hard work, we provide a hearty steak lunch for them every year. Especially with all the storms that have come through recently, we cannot thank them enough for everything they do! #makingapositivedifference

For the upcoming school year, all BCSD schools will use Rooms as their direct communication tools for parents, teachers, athletic coaches, club advisors, etc. Because Rooms is located in the Berkeley County School District mobile app, this streamlines communication and minimizes the number of apps parents and guardians need for communication. If you haven't already, download the BCSD app today and turn on notifications so you never miss a message.
