We are happy to announce that Randall Tucker has been named the new athletic director at Cane Bay High School. Tucker will replace Brian Swiney that is retiring after 30 years in the Berkeley County School District.
Coach Tucker spent the previous 9 years as the athletic director at Ashley Ridge High School. Tucker began his career in education in 2003 teaching at Wando High School in Charleston County before coming to Summerville High School in 2005 as a physical education teacher and assistant varsity boys' basketball coach. He taught at Oakbrook Middle School in the 2010-2011 school year, then joined the staff at Ashley Ridge High as an assistant principal in 2011, where he served as an athletic game administrator for all sports and assistant varsity football coach. Tucker also coached basketball during his career. He was named SCAAA 5A Athletic Director of the Year in 2022 and SCACA State Athletic Director of the Year in 2023.
A graduate of Stratford High School in Berkeley County, Tucker earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Winthrop University and a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from The Citadel.
