Earlier this month, four Berkeley County School District schools participated in SCMEA's Jazz Performance Assessment. For three out of the four schools, it was their first time ever performing at the event.
Judges could give jazz bands a rating of Poor, Fair, Good, Excellent or Superior for their performance. If an ensemble received a Superior from all the judges, they were awarded the highest possible rating, Superior with Distinction.
