family engagement summit 2024

Berkeley County School District is excited to share that the Family Engagement Summit is still on for 2025 – just with a new date.

After being affected by the inclement weather in January, this event is now being planned for Saturday, April 26. It is still happening at Carolyn Lewis School, same time – 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The Family Engagement Summit is the brainchild of BCSD’s Office of State and Federal Programs and is geared toward providing valuable resources to families. It is a free event, open to families who would like to come out and meet with different BCSD departments and community agencies to experience strategies that will help their children grow academically; the main focus will be sharing strategies for families that support summer learning.

There will be tables set up for families to engage with local organizations and get connected to community resources, plus some hands-on learning opportunities for students.

BCSD staff, as well as outside groups, will have tables and displays set up inside of the building so families can walk around and learn more about what all the district and the community have to offer, and also gain insights on how to better support their children’s education from home.

Planning to attend? Please let BCSD know ahead of time by pre-registering online; those who pre-register will receive school supplies that can be used for at-home learning activities. Click here to register.

Carolyn Lewis School is located in the Carnes Crossroad community at 380 Coleridge Drive. The Family Engagement Summit will last from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
