CLS is excited to launch Principal Pals, our new monthly student advisory group. Each homeroom teacher will select two students to participate. These students will meet with CLS administrators to discuss school experiences and collaborate on ways to strengthen our school community.

No Tricks, Just Treats! We loved seeing sweet smiles from our students as they participated in holiday events around the community!

Students stepped right out of the pages of their favorite books for Storybook Character Day, classrooms were buzzing with learning activities, and our Renaissance Rallies brought all the motivation and celebration!
And to top it off — our staff enjoyed a brew-tiful Hot Beverage Bar because our teachers deserve a latte appreciation. A story-worthy day from start to finish!

Don't forget our Thanksgiving Food Drive kicks off MONDAY!

Mystery Box Challenge in Mrs Joyner"s 7th Grade Science!
Students had an exciting time testing their observation and inference skills through Mystery Box activity! They reached into covered boxes to feel and describe hidden objects, using their senses and clues to make thoughtful guesses about what might be inside. The room was filled with laughter, curiosity, and a few surprised reactions as everyone explored and shared their inferences. It was a fun and engaging way to practice critical thinking in science.

7th graders explored The Tale Tale Heart today with the author, Edgar Allen Poe. (Aka, Mr Young) It was SPOOKtacular!!

Throwback Thursday! Pumpkin spice and everything nice! Our First Graders were the sweetest pumpkins in the patch!

Ms. Hodge's 6th grade science class explored Wave Interactions today using hands on learning! Concepts like reflection, refraction, absorption, and transmission were observed.

We're seeing double! We are loving the spirit we are seeing for Red Ribbon Week! Up next Team Day with the GRAND FINALE of Storybook Character Day!

¡Celebrando El Día de los Muertos en nuestras clases de español! This week, our Spanish students are diving into the vibrant traditions of El Día de los Muertos, a beautiful Mexican holiday that honors loved ones who have passed.
Here's what each grade is working on:
8th Grade: Students are creating altares y ofrendas, or altars and offerings, which are set up to honor the deceased with their favorite foods, drinks, and keepsakes. It's a way of inviting the spirits back to celebrate with us!
7th Grade: Our 7th graders are making tapetes (sawdust carpets), intricate designs traditionally made during the celebration, often displayed in the streets to guide spirits to the altars.
6th Grade: 6th graders are crafting alebrijes, colorful, fantastical creatures that are believed to be spirit guides. These lively figures are a mix of animals and are often painted with vibrant hues!
