family at Family Engagement Summit last year

Berkeley County School District invites its families to start 2025 out on the right foot by attending the BCSD Family Engagement Summit next month.

This event is the brainchild of BCSD’s Office of State and Federal Programs and is geared toward providing valuable resources to families. After a great turnout its first year, the Family Engagement Summit is back for year two – this time at Carolyn Lewis School on Saturday, Jan. 25.

This is a free event, open to families who would like to come out and meet with different BCSD departments and community agencies to experience strategies that will help their children grow academically, and gain information that will impact their learning. There will be tables set up for families to engage with local organizations and get connected to community resources, plus some hands-on learning opportunities for students.

BCSD staff, as well as outside groups, will have tables and displays set up inside of the building so families can walk around and learn more about what all the district and the community have to offer, and also gain insights on how to better support their children’s education from home.

Planning to attend? Please let BCSD know ahead of time by pre-registering online; there will be free school supplies for all who pre-register. Click here to register.

Carolyn Lewis School is located in the Carnes Crossroad community at 380 Coleridge Drive. The Family Engagement Summit will last from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
