Goose Creek Elementary has a high percentage of Latino families, so as part of Hispanic Heritage Month (which runs Sept. 15 through Oct. 15), the school planned an event that highlighted their students’ heritage. GCE held its Hispanic Heritage Celebration on Oct. 3 after school.
At the event, student projects about Hispanic countries and culture were on display. Students also made maracas to take home and papel picado to hang up around the school. To cap off the night, two group of traditional dancers performed.
