Goose Creek High's Nathanial Gilmore was selected to be the South Carolina Financial Literacy Master Teacher Program's Educator of the Month for January by the South Carolina Treasurer's Office.
The South Carolina Financial Literacy Master Teacher Program gives access to specialized training and financial literacy curriculum resources that better enable teachers to promote financial literacy education in K-12 schools.
Gilmore has more than thirty years of experience as an educator and training professional and teaches computer science courses, entrepreneurship and other business classes at GCH.
“Finance is at the forefront of our society and impacts all of us,” says Gilmore. “The importance of teaching financial literacy cannot be overemphasized. The sooner students are introduced to these concepts and lessons, the more likely they are to embrace this knowledge and make financial decisions that will benefit them in the long run.”
Congratulations, Nathaniel!
