The Berkeley Center for the Arts at Goose Creek High School is now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 school year. Students may audition in one or more of the fine arts areas of Creative Writing, Dance, Strings, Theatre, Visual Arts, Vocal Music, and Wind and Percussion. Due to concerns about icy conditions and the ongoing impact of inclement weather, Berkeley County School District students will learn from home and complete eLearning Day assignments on Friday, January 24. In response to ongoing forecasts for wintry weather, to include the potential for snow, Berkeley County School District (BCSD) announced that schools will follow the half-day dismissal bell schedule on Tuesday, January 21. Students will learn from home and complete eLearning Day assignments on Wednesday, January 22. All schools and offices will be closed Wednesday.

Berkeley County School District will utilize the Teacher Workday/Inclement Weather Day on October 11 as a weather make-up, e-Learning Day for students, as designated in the BCSD Instructional Calendar. This adjustment is necessary due to the postponement of the first day of school from August 14 to August 15, following impacts of Tropical Storm Debby.

Due to forecasted impacts of Hurricane Helene, Berkeley County School District (BCSD) students will learn from home and complete eLearning Day assignments on Friday, September 27. All after-school activities and after-school care programs will close at 6 p.m. this evening.
All schools and offices will be closed Friday, and before and after-school care programs are canceled. As the storm system is projected to move out of the area that afternoon, after school activities may resume after 4 p.m. on Friday.

As part of its ongoing mission to combat hunger and provide resources to families, Lowcountry Food Bank is hosting a Fresh for All event in front of the high school from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sept. 18. Food, such as fresh produce and canned goods, will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
