Hanahan High School's Hawk's Eye View student newscast announced as the NATAS Southeast "Best Newscast" in Atlanta on 3.23.24

On Saturday, March 23rd, 2024 Hanahan High School's student run newscast: "Hawk's Eye View" won the NATAS Student Production Award for "Best Newscast". The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, NATAS, is the same organization that annually hands out Emmy awards. Hawk's Eye View won the Student Production version of this award for their coverage of Homecoming week in October of 2022. The main anchor was Anna Avery (currently attending the Univ. of South Carolina studying Broadcast Journalism), Sports was anchored by Brayden Joseph (attending and playing baseball at USC-Union), Conner Stephens (attending Trident Tech in their TV/Film Studies program) finished the show up with his "Conner Does It" segment as he learned how to become a cheerleader. Seniors returning this year from last year's newscast include 2023-2024 Executive Producer Sydney Charles, Clay Horner, Cade Knight, Sophia Bennett, Ella Patrick, Andrew Roblero, and Logan Williams.

This is the first time Hanahan has won this award after being nominated the last two years. This year they took home two of the three nominations for the award.

Hawk's Eye View is produced by the Media Technology students in the Honors level Media Tech 3 and 4 classes.
