At the most recent Berkeley County School District board meeting, Teacher Forum presented student scholarships to two recent BCSD graduates for the amount of $2,500 each. The funds for both scholarships were raised by Teacher Forum through t-shirt sales, a silent auction and selling Double Good Popcorn. One scholarship was awarded to a student who was supremely dedicated to CTE programs and the other was awarded to a student leader in the Teacher Cadets.
Applications were sent out to high school counselors, teacher cadet program sponsors and CTE teachers this spring. The Teacher Forum leadership team reviewed and discussed each completed essay application.
Representing Hanahan High, Michael Wilkerson was awarded the 2024 Teacher Forum CTE Student Scholarship. Wilkerson held the rank of captain in Hanahan High's JROTC and was a Beta Club and National Honor Society member. His internship with Boeing put him over the top to receive the scholarship.
He will be attending the Citadel this fall and majoring in supply chain management.
