Parents of J.K. Gourdin Elementary students and the Pineville community are invited to a BCSD Nights In event on July 2 at 6:30 p.m. at J.K. Gourdin Elementary School. District and school administrators will be available to discuss immediate plans to support the August transition of current J.K. Gourdin Elementary students to St. Stephen Elementary and listen to feedback from those impacted.

“We recognize and understand that there are valid questions surrounding the August transition of our students at J.K. Gourdin Elementary,” said BCSD Superintendent Dr. Anthony Dixon. “We are committed to supporting our students and their families to ensure that they have a successful start to the 24-25 school year, and we want to hear the needs of the community before planning begins regarding future use of the J.K. Gourdin Elementary School building. We look forward to hosting a productive meeting focused on addressing needs and plans for the future.”

The “Nights In” community sessions began in March 2022 and are structured to target specific attendance zones and communities. Parents and community members are invited to attend sessions in their area as a chance to meet with Superintendent Dr. Anthony Dixon and district office and school employees to hear and exchange ideas about what they would like to see happening in their community schools.
