Thanks to a community partnership, Macedonia Middle students participated in a special, all-expenses paid field trip that celebrated the arts.
On Nov. 13 and 14, sixth, seventh and eighth grade students traveled to the Gaillard Center in downtown Charleston to watch a show. The Gaillard sponsored the field trip, which was coordinated by social workers Ashley Heyward Bolds and Jasmine Cohen with the BCSD Department of Inclusive Excellence and Student Support.
Students were fully engaged in the experience and participated in a question and answer segment following the show; below are photos from the sixth grade trip on Monday, when students saw the play "Tomás and the Library Lady."
Bolds said she and Cohen are excited about this partnership with the Gaillard and hope to continue to find more ways to support BCSD schools.
