Before break, students at Nexton Elementary took a trip around the world with NES parents, students and staff. Students learned about holiday traditions around the world with presentations focusing on Mexico, Brazil, Poland and more. 🎁

Good Afternoon Parents and Guardians,
THIS FRIDAY DECEMBER 19TH IS AN EARLY DISMISSAL for students. Students will dismiss at 10:50am. NES AFTERCARE IS CLOSED!!!

As a result of Early Dismissal, please make sure your student’s teacher is made aware of any changes to transportation for your student by tomorrow (THURSDAY, DEC 18TH).

Please send in a hand-written note with your student. If you were planning to make any changes for students to ride the bus on Friday, the Bus Transportation office requires 72 business hours for any new requests and/or any changes to the bus stop drop off location. Since we are outside of the 72 hour window, those requests would not be honored for this Friday’s Early Dismissal.

Everyone Knows That Nexton Elementary Has THE BEST CHORUS IN THE WORLD!!!! What an amazing job that Mr. Masker, Mrs. Armstrong, and the students did with this performance of the Ugly Sweater Chorus Concert. The story of the performance was that a person was traveling all the way to Los Angeles, California to compete in an Ugly Sweater Contest...... AND!!!! She Won!!!!

Thursday, November 20th- The cafeteria is hosting BIG THURSDAY.... which throughout the day, cafeterias will feature themed decorations, special menus and plenty of team spirit. Students are encouraged to wear their favorite team’s colors and get lunch in their school cafeteria. Every student that eats lunch this day will be entered into a drawing for prizes. WEAR YOUR TEAM COLORS!!!!

Friday, November 21st- Movie Day and Stuffed Animal Day. This is an event that our awesome P.T.A. came up with to celebrate our school raising $20,000 in the Buddy-A-Thon. This is hosted in class and the times will be determined by the teacher.

Next Week- Nexton is hosting a Fall Challenge of completing 18 activities over the Thanksgiving Break for a prize.

Esta noche, miércoles 19 de noviembre: La Asociación de Padres y Maestros (PTA) organiza una Noche de Helados con Rita. Contaremos con la presencia de famosos como el Dr. Hoots, el Sr. J, la Sra. McCoy y el Entrenador Till. El evento tendrá lugar de 3:00 p. m. a 8:00 p. m. Dirección: 1120 Metropolitan Avenue, Summerville, SC 29483.

Jueves 20 de noviembre: La cafetería celebra el Gran Jueves. Durante todo el día, habrá decoraciones temáticas, menús especiales y mucho espíritu de equipo. Se anima a los estudiantes a vestir los colores de su equipo favorito y almorzar en la cafetería de su escuela. Todos los estudiantes que almuercen ese día participarán en un sorteo de premios. ¡Vístanse con los colores de su equipo!

Viernes 21 de noviembre: Día de Cine y Día de Peluches. Este es un evento organizado por nuestra increíble PTA. Se organizó para celebrar que nuestra escuela recaudó $20,000 en la Maratón de Amigos. El evento se llevará a cabo en clase y el horario lo determinará el profesor.

La próxima semana, Nexton organiza un Reto de Otoño que consiste en completar 18 actividades durante las vacaciones de Acción de Gracias para ganar un premio.

Quinta-feira, 20 de novembro - O refeitório da escola está organizando a GRANDE QUINTA-FEIRA... durante todo o dia, os refeitórios terão decorações temáticas, cardápios especiais e muita animação para os times. Os alunos são incentivados a usar as cores de seus times favoritos e almoçar no refeitório da escola. Todos os alunos que almoçarem neste dia participarão de um sorteio de prêmios. VISTA AS CORES DO SEU TIME!!!

Sexta-feira, 21 de novembro - Dia do Cinema e Dia do Bichinho de Pelúcia. Este é um evento organizado pela nossa incrível PTA. Criamos esta atividade para comemorar a arrecadação de US$ 20.000 da nossa escola no Buddy-A-Thon. Ela será realizada em sala de aula e os horários serão definidos pelo professor.

Na próxima semana, a Nexton realizará um Desafio de Outono com 18 atividades durante o feriado de Ação de Graças para concorrer a um prêmio.

Our Lost & Found is overflowing with coats, jackets, and sweaters waiting to be reunited with their owners. Please check the Lost & Found near the main office this week . Any item left on November 21 will be donated.

What an honor to celebrate our Veterans during our Veteran's Day Program this past week and to hear our amazing chorus fill the room with music. A huge thank you to all who serve and to the families and community members who joined us — your support means the world.
