Philip Simmons High will celebrate 161 graduating seniors this Friday at the North Charleston Coliseum.
This year’s graduating class includes 12 State Academic Honor recipients and 14 Palmetto Fellows. There were 50 students eligible for the Life Scholarship and 60 students eligible for the Hope Scholarship. Isabella Marie Corbit was nominated for the Presidential Scholar Award. Three students are graduating with service academy appointments.
Graduates scored an estimated $7,323,312 in academic scholarships plus $100,000 in athletic scholarships.
Friday’s commencement exercises begin at 2 p.m.
