students participating in parade

All of Philip Simmons High wanted to make sure their friends from the special services classes got a proper send-off as they geared up for the Special Olympics this morning.

The special services classes have are participating in a full day of fun doing track and field events at Wando High in Mt. Pleasant.

The whole school gathered outside at about 9:30 a.m. to cheer on their friends as they paraded in front of the building with their teachers and buddies from the general education classes. The school was prepared to give out high fives, cheers and words of encouragement as the special services classes took two laps around the front loop before boarding their bus.
