Students at Sedgefield Middle were met with smiles and applause on December 3rd. SFM was recognized for outscoring all other Berkeley County middle schools in a November i-Ready challenge.
As students worked diligently to complete i-Ready reading assignments, their progress and completion rates were tracked. The result -- the district's i-Ready middle school banner was passed from Daniel Island School to SFM.
Several Berkeley County School District administrators attended the special recognition. Among them was Deputy Superintendent Dr. Karen Whitley.
"We are proud of the commitment made by students, teachers, and administrators at Sedgefield to improving reading scores," Dr. Whitley said. "A lot of great things are happening here, and we can't wait to see what's next."
SFM was one of two schools recognized this week. As with October, an elementary level school and middle school were recognized.
