The annual Parent Climate Survey is available in the PowerSchool Parent Portal Website under Forms! The results of the parent survey will be reported on the 2025 School Report Card as required by state law. The goal is to identify strengths, weaknesses, and define opportunities to improve parental involvement at our school and in the state. The survey will close March 21st!

The BCSD Student, Teacher, and Parent Climate Surveys window opened on Monday March 3rd and will close Friday March 21st. All students in grades 3-12 and all teachers, librarians, guidance counselors, ROTC instructors, career specialists, and speech therapists are expected to participate in the survey. All parents are encouraged to participate. Please see the 2024-25 Student, Teacher, and Parent Climate Surveys document for additional information.

SFM is proud to announce our 2025 Teacher of the Year! 🦈
Mr. Fletcher goes above and beyond as an advocate for music education. His work at Sedgefield Middle as the Director of Bands and at Goose Creek High School as the Assistant Director of the Spirit of Gold Marching Bands inspires students to be music leaders. Mr. Fletcher says, "Innovation in my classroom focuses on fostering creativity, collaboration, and diverse musical experiences. Technology, like MakeMusic, is integrated to empower students to self-assess their progress, practice beyond the classroom, and explore genres such as pop, jazz, and video game music. This then leads to promoting self-exploration and growth."

Feb. 3-7 is National School Counseling Week, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our school counselors for the role they play in student achievement and success.
BCSD schools and offices will re-open and resume normal operations tomorrow, Monday, Jan. 27.
Due to concerns about icy conditions and the ongoing impact of inclement weather, Berkeley County School District students will learn from home and complete eLearning Day assignments on Friday, January 24. Hello SFM Families! It's that time of year when we go freezing for a reason! We will participate in the Isle of Palms Polar Plunge benefitting Special Olympics South Carolina on February 22nd. Your donations will be split between Special Olympics South Carolina and our unified buddy club at Sedgefield Middle. Sedgefield Middle is a Unified Champion School through Special Olympics. In response to ongoing forecasts for wintry weather, to include the potential for snow, Berkeley County School District (BCSD) announced that schools will follow the half-day dismissal bell schedule on Tuesday, January 21. Students will learn from home and complete eLearning Day assignments on Wednesday, January 22. All schools and offices will be closed Wednesday.
