We've got some accomplished kids in BCSD! Last night, Stratford High's JROTC archery team, Hanahan High's "Hawk's Eye View" and Nina Nassyrov from Philip Simmons Middle were recognized by our school board for their competition wins on the state and national level.

Spring has sprung! We hope all our students have a safe and fun spring break! Students will return to school April 21.

On April 5th, the Stratford Betas volunteered at the Goose Creek Recreation's Easter Egg Hunt at the Carolyn Lewis Fields. We helped distribute the eggs for the hunt, ran the craft area, supported the photo location, and manned the yard games. We even assisted Mr. Bunny, Miss Bunny, and Broose the Goose throughout the event. Everyone had a blast!

Stratford brought 7 students to the SCSTA competition . Every single student ranked Superior (highest ranking for the competition)!!. We had 3 students qualify for the finals for Comedic Musical Theatre Solo and 2 students qualify for the finals for Dramatic Duet Scene. Mia Embree Stone and Tyler Goodhall placed 3rd in the state for Dramatic Duet Scene! So proud of all of our kids who competed!

SHS Chamber Orchestra received a rating of "Superior with Distinction" at the SC Orchestra Division Concert Performance Assessment. This rating is the highest that any orchestra can achieve at a state competition! Way to go Knights!

Thanks to all who made tonight a success!

Last Friday 53 of our students auditioned for the SC Music Educators Association All-State Chorus. The audition included a prepared Baroque piece and an 8-measure sight singing. Students prepared the piece and to sight singing during class and on their own. This year, a school record, 21 students made it into the All-State choir. Of those 21 students, 7 of them were in the top 10 of their voice part. The students who made top 10 in their voice part are Naomi Fowler, Kayla Furman, Mia Stone, Sophia Wallace, Jaylen Penn, Anthony Guadagno, and Maximus Sticht. Stratford has a higher number of students in All-State and in the top 10 than any other school in our district. Please congratulate the students listed in the attachment as they will be representing our school in March at the All-State Choral weekend at Winthrop University. We are soooo proud of our Knights!

Let's hear it for DECA!!!
