Michael B. Ryan, Ed.S., A.T.C (Director of Sports Medicine)

Coach Ryan graduated from Charleston Southern University with a Bachelor of Science and earned his Masters Degree and Specialist in Educational Leadership from The Citadel.  Coach Ryan is certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification and the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.  Coach Ryan is an active member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the South Carolina Athletic Trainers Association.  He is married to the former Alice Ross of New Jersey.  Alice is a Chiropractor who practices in Summerville.  Michael and Alice have two daughters, Emily and Ella.  The Ryans reside in Ladson.

Ashley Chrestman MS, LAT, SCAT, FMT

Ashley Chrestman joined the Stratford athletic training staff in August 2015 after previously serving as the head athletic trainer for Robinson High School for three years. Prior to providing medical coverage for high schools, Ashley was the assistant athletic trainer at University of Arkansas-Little Rock. She worked with the women’s soccer team and the women’s basketball team, who appeared in the D1 NCAA tournament and were crowned Sunbelt Champions. During her time at UALR she provided treatment, injury prevention, and rehabilitation to several athletes that went on to play in the WNBA.

Ashley worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Arkansas Sate University while pursuing her Master’s Degree in Exercise Science. Her primary responsibility was women’s volleyball, but she also served as an approved clinical instructor and devoted her free time to teaching athletic training students. Ashley attended The University of Central of Arkansas to complete her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Athletic Training.

Ashley is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, the Southwest Athletic Trainers’ Association, and the South Carolina Athletic Trainers’ Association. She serves as an instructor for the American Red Cross in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Lay Responder First-Aid / CPR. Ashley has also completed her level I and II Rocktape fascial movement course. Ashley enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching the Razorbacks, and Crossfit.
