Students at 27 Berkeley County Schools will receive school breakfast and school lunch at no cost to the student during the 2023-24 school year, under the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). The Community Eligibility Provision is a federally funded initiative, which serves schools with high percentages of students from low-income families. The program was established in 2010 and is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The following schools are eligible to offer all students breakfast and lunch at no cost:

  • Berkeley Elementary

  • Berkeley Middle 

  • Boulder Bluff Elementary

  • Cainhoy Elementary

  • College Park Elementary

  • College Park Middle

  • Cross Elementary

  • Cross High

  • Devon Forest Elementary 

  • Goose Creek Elementary

  • H.E. Bonner Elementary

  • Hanahan Elementary

  • J.K. Gourdin Elementary

  • Macedonia Middle

  • Moncks Corner Elementary

  • Mount Holly Elementary

  • Sangaree Elementary 

  • Sangaree Intermediate

  • Sangaree Middle

  • Sedgefield Middle

  • St. Stephen Elementary

  • St. Stephen Middle

  • Timberland High 

  • Westview Elementary 

  • Westview Middle

  • Westview Primary

  • Whitesville Elementary

If a negative balance exists on a student’s account from the previous school year, the balance will need to be paid in full; however, students at CEP schools will not accrue any further balance on their accounts for the 2023-2024 school year. 

Students enrolled at other BCSD schools not listed above will continue to offer free and reduced-price lunches to students whose families apply and demonstrate financial need under the National School Lunch Program. Parents will need to complete free and reduced applications for students NOT enrolled in a CEP school above.
