WVM Families,
If you have not completed the online federal form in Parent Portal yet, a paper copy is being sent home with your student today. It is important that these get filled out and returned to the school ASAP. Thanks and have a great day.

Happy Thursday!
Love the teachers at WVM? Show them your appreciation by donating a pie to the school beginning tomorrow until we leave for Thanksgiving Break. You can drop your pie off in the front office for WVM teachers to brighten their day! Please feel free to call the school with any questions.

This past weekend, Google partnered with the Berkeley County School District and the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation to host a 2-day kids robotics workshop at Westview Middle School! Students worked together to build a robot and play in a series of driving and programming challenges.
Here are some of our WVM young engineers who attended!

WVM Families,

Students in Ms. Willis' math classes spent their time on an M&M's and ratios lab yesterday. Students had to sort, tally, create ratios, and then find a friend with equivalent ratios. Of course, the best part - they got to eat their creations afterwards!

Mr. Cowan and the rest of our SIC Team here at WVM had a great first meeting yesterday! They discussed new officers, including:
Ms. Neese - Chair
Ms. Limehouse - Co-Chair
Ms. Kinlaw - Secretary
The team also discussed the purpose/goals of the SIC Team and items for the next meeting's agenda. The next meeting will take place in November - date and time TBA.

Book Chats in Ms. Mueller's classroom from last week!
6th grade students on Ms. Mueller's team presented books of their choice in English class - WVM is very proud of them!

No internet, no problem! Students in Ms. Holland's science class weren't phased by a lack of technology when they built lunar landers today. Students learned about Newton's three laws and constructed a craft on a shoe-string budget that would deliver their marbles (astronauts) safely back to Earth. Tomorrow will be the big test to see if students lose their marbles!
