Did you know that Westview Middle has a garden and outdoor classroom space? Mr. Eklund, Ms. Giddens and a number of our students recently weeded, composted and replanted in preparation for some winter crops in our garden. The garden was funded through a grant from Boeing's Center for Children's Wellness in conjunction with MUSC Health. Students learn about gardening, farm-to-table initiatives, and healthy living. South Carolina State Standards are addressed and referenced in conjunction with the activities as well!

Due to forecasted impacts of Hurricane Helene, Berkeley County School District (BCSD) students will learn from home and complete eLearning Day assignments on Friday, September 27. All after-school activities and after-school care programs will close at 6 p.m. this evening. All schools and offices will be closed Friday, and before and after-school care programs are canceled. As the storm system is projected to move out of the area that afternoon, after school activities may resume after 4 p.m. on Friday.

🎨✨ Exciting things are happening at Westview Middle School! Thanks to the incredible support from our community during last year's fundraisers, we were able to add FOUR beautiful new murals around the school! 🌟 These vibrant works of art bring our hallways to life, reflecting the creativity and spirit of our students. And the best part? This is just the beginning! 🎉 We’re excited to continue making Westview a welcoming, inspiring place for everyone with more culture and climate updates on the way. Stay tuned for more positive changes as we work together to make our school shine! 🖼️❤️ (📸 Check out the murals below!)

Students around the building today participated in activities to recognize September 11th. Mr. Busby's class discussed the event and released remembrance lanterns. Ms. Kinlaw's class participated in Patriot's Day activities. Students looked at primary source documents, photographs, news articles, and witness statements to analyze cause and effects of the September 11th attacks.
