hallway gingerbread themed decor

Westview Primary took the lyrics "walking in a winter wonderland" to a whole new level with an epic hallway decorating contest.

In the weeks leading up to Winter Break, teachers and staff worked hard to make the hallways look spectacular with Christmas and winter décor. The school decided to make it a little more interesting with some friendly competition to see which hallway could dazzle the most.

Each of the four main classroom hallways of the school sported a different theme: the "Winter Wonderland" hallway glistened with a plethora of white and blue string lights; "Candyland" consisted of all sorts of crafty elements inspired by the popular board game of the same name (the Peppermint Forest was among fan favorites); "Christmas Around the World" featured holiday traditions in different countries; and a general holiday-themed hallway incorporated decorated doors with lots of texture (including a 3D Starbucks latte on one door).

It was a very tight race that ultimately recognized "Candyland" as the most festive hallway -- however, all the hallways were well received by students. Headstart classes spent some time last Friday exploring the school and admiring all the hard work from teachers and staff. Check out the photo gallery linked below for more photos.
