Courtney Salisbury Named New Head Coach for BHS Girls Tennis
Berkeley High School is excited to announce Courtney Salisbury as the new head coach of the BHS Girls Tennis team. A familiar and respected figure in the Berkeley tennis community, Coach Salisbury brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and passion for the sport.
Legendary coach Joe Harnage, who led the program for many years, shared his confidence in her appointment:
"I have known Courtney Salisbury for almost 30 years, having served as her high school tennis coach from 1996-99. During those years, she demonstrated a strong devotion to our team and the sport itself. Her excellence on the tennis court was matched by her being the Class of 2000 valedictorian. She later became an assistant tennis coach for 16 of the last 18 seasons, taking on key responsibilities such as team pictures, planning our banquet, and maintaining our social media presence. More importantly, Courtney has the skills to teach players at all levels and is as good at instilling humility in winners as she is at encouraging those who come up short. She is the best person to carry on the Stag tradition."
Coach Salisbury’s dedication to Berkeley High School Athletics and her deep connection to the program make her the ideal leader to continue the team’s legacy of success. We look forward to an exciting new chapter under her leadership.
Please join us in welcoming Coach Salisbury to her new role!
