The Buck Shack officially opened yesterday, and it was a huge success! 🦌💙 Students earn Berkeley Bucks for doing the right thing and can use them to purchase fun items in the Buck Shack. We’re so proud of our students for making positive choices every day!

We are excited to announce that our school has embarked on a fun and engaging Beanstack reading journey! Beanstack is an interactive online platform that encourages students and staff to track their reading and celebrate their progress. It’s a wonderful way to motivate everyone to read more and discover new books together.

Each week, we will be sharing the top five readers, classes, and staffulty who have logged the most reading minutes on Beanstack. This friendly competition will help inspire our whole school community to keep turning those pages and grow a lifelong love of reading.

Spring has sprung! We hope all our students have a safe and fun spring break! Students will return to school April 21.

The BCSD Student, Teacher, and Parent Climate Surveys window opened on Monday March 3rd and will close Friday March 21st. All students in grades 3-12 and all teachers, librarians, guidance counselors, ROTC instructors, career specialists, and speech therapists are expected to participate in the survey. Our school social workers are sparking change, one student at a time. Thank a school social worker this week for being a light in their students' lives!

Ready to solve the case of the missing breakfast? National School Breakfast Week starts today! To celebrate, students will get to try new menu items for breakfast and be entered to win daily and grand prizes from BCSD Child Nutrition Services.

EVERY student DESERVES a school counselor. Feb. 3-7 is National School Counseling Week, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our school counselors for the role they play in student achievement and success.

BCSD schools and offices will re-open and resume normal operations tomorrow, Monday, Jan. 27.
