The city of Goose Creek’s Fire Dept. visited with our K-2 students today to teach our students about the importance Fire Safety and share information about careers in Public Safety. The students were able to tour the firetruck and the firefighters demonstrated some of the equipment and protective gear they use on emergency calls. Our chameleons loved meeting some of our community helpers and learning about their careers!

Third grade's science unit right now is Fossils. As part of a fun exploration, Jason Trail, Ari Trail's father came in to present Fossils to all of third grade. His company, Seven Ages Research Associates, studies Marine Fossils. He presented about different types of fossils, specifically ones that are located in South Carolina. The students were able to explore the Columbian Mammoth, Megalodon, and several other types of fossils that were found here in the Charleston area. What a great way to end the week! Thank you Mr. Trail !

We have heard from our stakeholders that on November 4th there are many events happening in our community; including the Coastal Carolina Fair and the BCSD Board Meeting. Our Chameleon Choraleers will be highlighted at the BCSD Board Meeting. We don't want anyone to miss out on any of these exciting opportunities therefore we will be postponing our STEAM night until second semester. Thank you for your understanding.

Last week third grade students took on the role of audio engineers to create a song for their upcoming show with the help of artists in residence, Carolina Studios. They used loops to create the track, added instruments, and recorded vocals to bring their musical vision to life. Through this hands-on project, the students explored the art of music production, learning to blend creativity with technical skills. For more information about Carolina Studios check out their website https://carolinastudios.net/

Mr. Doster is finishing up a project for Ashley River Creative Arts now and he will begin working on our chameleon shortly. He is working as quickly as he can but he is behind schedule due to circumstances outside of his control. We are so excited to invite everyone to see it once it is here!
