Dear Sedgefield Families,
Join us for our first Parent Workshop on Wednesday, March 12th at 9:00am or 3:30pm at Sedgefield Middle! We’ll share ways you can support your student at school. Parents will receive help with Schoology and Rooms, learn how to analyze student data, get math resources and tips for using them, and take home books to read with your child.
Please RSVP by emailing Mrs. Murchie-Chapman at murchiec@bcsdschools.net, or by sending back the physical RSVP form. Paper copies will go home Wednesday, November 5th.
If you can’t attend in person, don’t worry—we’ll record the session and send the link and resources to all families who RSVP.

Sedgefield Middle School Family,

Let the competitions begin between each of our 47 schools and District Office Staff! We’re excited to see who will head our leaderboard for the 2025 Fall Teacher Forum Double Good Popcorn Fundraiser! Last year Goose Creek High earned bragging rights for raising $803. Second place on the leaderboard was Foxbank Elementary earning $605 (ALSO a first-place finisher 2 years ago in 2023!) And third place went to Berkeley Elementary for earning $501. We are thrilled that the District Office will be competing this year! ALL proceeds will be used to fund student scholarships. Last year we raised $3000 and this year we’d love to DOUBLE our DOUBLEGOOD!!
We’re excited to announce that Sedgefield Middle School is participating in a Double Good popcorn fundraiser with the BCSD Teacher Forum to raise money for student scholarships. We’re excited to announce Job Shadowing Day on Friday, November 14th!

This is a wonderful opportunity for students to explore a career that interests them and gain real-world experience by spending the day with a professional in their chosen field. 👩‍💼👨‍🔧👩‍⚕️

🔴 Important Reminder:
To participate, students must complete the Job Shadowing Packet with their selected workplace host and return it to the school by November 12, 2025.
Students who do not turn in a completed packet will remain at school for regular classes.

Sedgefield Middle School has been placed on hold to ensure hallways and parking lots remain clear while administrators and the Security and Emergency Management team conduct random and suspicion-less searches. Weapons screeners will be utilized.

These searches are unannounced, nonselective, and conducted to maintain a safe, drug- and weapon-free school environment. They may include classrooms, entryways, lockers, buses, and parking lots.

We will inform you once the hold is lifted and normal schedules resume. Thank you for your cooperation.

Sedgefield Middle School was placed on hold at approximately 10:20 am, to allow emergency personnel to assist a student experiencing a medical emergency. The hold has been lifted and the school has resumes normal operations.

The MUSC Mobile Immunization Van is coming to our district to provide required school vaccines to our students. They will be at Sedgefield Middle School on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. If you are interested in your child receiving their vaccine(s) at this time, please contact the nurses for more information. Consent forms are required to be completed and turned in by Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

Eligibility: Students must be VFC eligible. Children are VFC eligible if they meet one of the following criteria: between the age of 9-18, Medicaid-eligible, Uninsured, Underinsured, American Indian, or Alaskan Native.
