A little bit of rain certainly did not dampen the festivities this morning as Stratford High students and staff ventured outside to cheer on the boys soccer team as they boarded the bus to leave for the state championship! The bus left in style with vehicles from Goose Creek's police department and the fire department providing an escort off the campus.
Stratford High Knights will face off against the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets at 3 p.m. at Memorial Stadium in Columbia. The team is led by Coach Jessie Stament.

Stratford Soccer is going to the State Championship for the first time in school history. The Knights beat Ashley Ridge in Overtime with a huge goal by Vinny Teixeira. The Knights will take on Upper State Champ Fort Mill at approximately 3 pm at Memorial Stadium in Columbia on Friday May 10.

We wanted to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the invaluable contributions of so many people to the Unified Knights Prom this past Friday. Your dedication, kindness, and enthusiasm made a significant difference in creating a memorable and inclusive experience for all of our special needs students. Your efforts went beyond just ensuring the event ran smoothly; you helped create a space where every student felt welcomed, valued, and celebrated. By assisting them on the dance floor and making sure they felt included this helped to create moments of joy and connection that they will cherish for a lifetime. A HUGE THANK YOU to all of the Renaissance students who showed just what Stratford is all about and being ALL IN!!

The 2024 YEScarolina State Business Plan Competition took place in Columbia, SC this past Friday. SHS is so proud to announce the remarkable achievements of our students. This past Friday night at Spring Valley High School in Columbia, Chase Hoppock and Jason Heusinger made Stratford history by breaking the 3200 meter school record. The previous record was set by Ross Jordan in 2013 in which he ran 9:43 for the 3200. Chase and Jason both ran side by side for the entire race and ran 9:41. This is 4:52 per mile pace. These times currently place them 9th and 10th in the 3200 in 5A. They will be racing this Friday night at Seneca High School in the Coaches Classic Elite Meet.

Over Spring Break our Stratford Winter Guard competed at the CWEA Championships! This is the culminating event of their winter guard season that began in November.
With the help of Mr. Swetckie and teachers and staff at College Park middle school, the guard was able to have an actual rehearsal space for the entire season! This can be the hardest thing for these groups as they perform in gyms, and it can be hard to get into a space like that during their season! Thank you to Dr. Burnette and our Stratford Athletics for allowing some time in our own gym as they prepared for Championships!
The students managed to have a breakout season as this is the first time Stratford has competed in the winter season since 2016.
During the season the guard was awarded 1st place at their premiere performance at Colleton County. Their score also awarded them a promotion from the Scholastic Regional A class to the Scholastic AAA class.
Their 2nd contest they placed 3rd in their class at River Bluff.
Their 3rd contest they placed 1st in their class at Indian Land.
We are proud of their performance at CWEA Championships where they placed 3rd and were awarded the Bronze Medal for this year! Congratulations to our Winter Guard students!

Spring has sprung! BCSD Spring Break runs April 1-5. All students return to school on April 8.
