On Thursday, Feb. 22, Stratford High is hosting the 39th Annual Region Strength Meet in the gymnasium. Our athletes will be competing in comparable weight classes against athletes from other local high schools. Five other local high schools will be competing: Berkeley, Cane Bay, Lucy Beckham, Philip Simmons, and Stall.
Lifters will compete in the bench press, squat and broad jump. This would be an excellent opportunity for you to see an official strength meet and also support many of our student-athletes.
The top three in Varsity Division and top two in JV Division will qualify for the State Strength Meet to be held at Lexington High School on March 23, 2024.
Competition will begin with broad jumping around 5 PM and the lifting takes place shortly after the broad jump is completed.
