The Varsity Baseball team picked up their second win of the week. The Knights traveled to Lucy Beckham to face their future region foe. Lucy Beckham moves into the region next season after the most recent realignment.
The Knights jumped on the Bengals in the third inning and a big fourth inning provided insurance for Stratford. Three Knights tallied multiple hits in the game. Sophomore Jachin Davis was 3-5 with two runs scored, junior Bryce Herpolsheimer went 2-4 with an RBi and two runs scored, and sophomore JQ Crosby was 2-4 with 4 RBI. Also collecting hits for Stratford were juniorTripp Smith, junior Brayden Burnett, junior Walt Argrett, and senior Reece Scarbrough. Herpolsheimer, Burnett, Argrett, and senior Gavin Garcia also collected RBI's for the Knights.
On the mound freshman Jameson Lee threw six strong innings. He scattered eight hits while allowing three runs, one earned, and striking out five. Junior Jacob Deacon came on to pitch the seventh and fanned two of the three batters he faced.
With the win Stratford improves to 3-6 and will look to keep things going as they travel to Bishop England on Monday.
