The Varsity softball team used a big first inning and closed the game out in five to take down James Island 10-0. The Knights scored eight runs in the first to take a commanding lead. Katie Bond got the start in the circle for the Knights. She went the distance striking out six. At the plate the Knights were led by Layla Joyner and Hannah Miller. Each collected two hits and had an RBI. Also having a hit for the Knights were Ella Bruorton, Lillian Hansen, Emma McGowan, and Ilianexis Cotto.
The Knights return to action tonight on the road at Berkeley.
