Emma McGowan had a day in the first game of the District 7 playoffs at Debra Tolar Field. The freshman went 4-4 with four runs scored and 3 RBI in a 9-3 win over visiting Conway. She finished the day with two singles, a double, and a second inning home run to center that would prove to be the winning run. In the circle for the Knights Senior Lillian Hansen went the distance. She allowed six hits and three earned runs while striking out three. With the win the Knights advance in the winner's bracket and will play at Summerville Friday. With a win the Knights would advance to the District final.
Also collecting hits for Stratford Wednesday night were Layla Joyner (1-3, 2 runs scored, 1 BB), Gabby Cruz (2-3, RBI), Lillian Hansen (1-3, BB), Sydney Williams (1-3, BB), Paola Cotto (1-3, 2B, 2 RBI). McGowan(2), Williams, and Tiara Eckmark also had stolen bases for the Knights.
