The Varsity football team gave the homecoming crowd an exciting game with a dramatic finish Friday night at Ray Stackley Field. The Knights and visiting Bengals of Lucy Beckham would trade blows early with the Knights coming back from down 10 with six minutes remaining in the game. Stratford carried a 28-24 lead into halftime, but Lucy Beckham would take the lead in the third quarter. Heading to the 4th, the Bengals held a 31-28 lead over the Knights and expanded the lead to 38-28 with just over six minutes remaining. Stratford would bring the game within three in the fourth and use a 2 minute drive to score with just over a minute remaining to take a 42-38 lead. Lucy Beckham would have one last shot to drive for the win but the Knights were up to the task, preserving the region victory.

Offensively the Knights were led by Senior running back Kerwin Squire Jr and Junior Quarterback Jachin Davis. The Knights also got key contributions statistically from Junior Receiver JQ Crosby, Sophomore receiver Jayden Lee, Sophomore running back Malachi Breland, Junior receiver Shawn Harris, Senior tight end Jacob Deacon, and Senior receiver Freddie Alston.

Squire led the Knights on the ground with 190 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Davis chipped in three touchdowns of his own while passing for 196 yards. Lee was the Knights leading receiver with 67 yards.

Stratford returns to action this coming Friday. They travel to region and district foe Cane Bay. The Knights will look to make it two in a row and stay in the hunt for a region championship. Kickoff at Cane Bay is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
